Hair at 15 weeks, and a big birthday

You know you are feeling better when you cease to think about your health and start feeling stressed out about regular life matters. It's been a special few weeks, with lots of trips (sawyer) and work (Hilary). In the middle of packing and moving we took a brief time out at a beautiful place to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends Molly and Brian.

This was the needed pause before the last week of both our jobs, packing a moving truck and going across country via a two week road-trip.

My hair is coming in full and straight (BOO... I was really hoping it would be curly) and very brown. I call the current length "women's studies professor". It's not very glamorous, but boy is it ever easy!

In the coming couple of weeks, it will just start to be long enough to style a teeny bit on top, by pushing the hair in certain directions, like crop circles. We can do all forward, all sideways, or everyone's favorite hipster classic, the fauxhawk.

It is long enough to now be intentional looking, which is nice. I've shifted quickly out of carrying with me a sense of being a curiosity to people (most people don't ask, but once in awhile I got a knowing look from a woman or a whiff of pity)  to just being someone with super short hair.
