I mean to write more lengthy posts about the following in the coming days but here are the hightlights:
- I'm done with chemo!! (cue the stadium cheer)
- I'm staring radition Monday the 18th
- Radiation will likely be a clinical trial with a stronger, but shorter protocol finishing on April 1~WHICH MEANS THE HARD PART OF MY CANCER TREATMENT WILL BE DONE THREE WEEKS FROM TODAY.
Sorry to yell, I just thought that was pretty yell-worthy material.
For now, I'll leave you with some photos from this weekend's trip to Zion National Park, in which I impressed myself by doing an eight mile hike that climbed about 2,100 feet over three miles (aka steep) and felt pretty great. I was maybe about 25% slower than I would have been four months ago, but I certainly didn't feel like my core stamina was diminished.

So I just don't know how you transition from being poisoned to being fried. Believe me, I'm so happy that the chemo is over for you, but radiation seems like a major fucker, pardon my French. I guess though, the hardest part will be the time after the radiation is over and you have to wait X years until you know you are truly in remission. You really know how to put things into perspective, don't you, sweetie?
ReplyDeleteSo does the radiation mean that you can read in bed without a booklight? Will you be able to cook frozen burritos simply by holding them in your hands?
Sorry. But what else do you expect from Mr Inappropriate?
Way to rock the hike, girl! Stadium cheer for that too!
ReplyDeleteI found Zion to be energizing.
